Babylonia zeylanica – Babylonia snail

This snail lives exclusively in the substrate and feeds on carrion, uneaten food and bristle worms.
She is extremely hard-working and constantly digs up the ground (fine sandy soil is important).

It gets interesting at feeding time, because then it pops out of the ground in a flash, as if out of nowhere, and looks for fresh food leftovers lying on the sand in order to consume them immediately.

Granules and flake food are eaten just as well as frozen food leftovers.

If all the conditions are right, the snail can live up to two years.
