Reef Zlements Nitro+ - 5L - Nutrient Solution

Nitrate is extremely important for the nutrition of microfauna and corals. When present in sufficient amounts, it promotes “biological filtration” as well as improved coral coloration and health.

In order for bacteria and other microscopic organisms to assimilate carbon and phosphorus, nitrogen is required in sufficient amounts.

As filtration systems become more efficient, low and very low nutrient aquariums are becoming more common. These systems are often low in nitrogen. When a system is nutrient poor it means that the 'biological filtration' is not operating as efficiently as it should and that nutrients such as PO4 are likely to build up and become pollutants unless other forms of filtration are employed.
 
Reef Zlements Nitro+ supports the growth and reproduction of microorganisms and improves biological filtration by allowing microscopic plankton and bacteria to consume carbon and phosphate. These bacteria can then be transported away via mechanical filtration or used as food by other organisms in our aquariums such as sponges, corals, mussels, tunicates, etc.

Reef Zlements Nitro+ is a natural source of NO3 that can be added to the aquarium in a controlled manner to achieve ideal NO3 levels. We recommend using Reef Zlements Nitro+ when nitrate levels are below 5ppm.

Before dosing Reef Zlements Nitro+ we recommend using reliable and accurate nitrate test kits to determine the nitrate levels in the aquarium.

10ml Reef Zlements Nitro+ increase the NO3 content in 100l aquarium water by ~1ppm.

Once the nitrate levels are determined, we recommend increasing only 1-2ppm NO3 per day by dosing the required amount and waiting 24 hours to test the NO3 levels. This process should be repeated until the desired NO3 levels are achieved.
