ROWAlith is a natural hardening granulate for fresh and sea water. It consists of 99,1% calcium carbonate (CaCO3) and is obtained from Jurassic and Devonian deposits.
How can ROWAlith be used?
– as an ideal material for the hardening filter (without additional CO2, approx. 2-4 °dH (KH and GH) are achieved)
– in the biological filter as an optimal growth area for microorganisms (e.g. nitrifiers)
– as a buffer in the biological filter for the acid produced by microorganisms
– ideal for use as a white substrate, which also increases pH stability and ensures sufficient hardness (seawater, harder freshwater aquariums such as Lake Malawi and Lake Tanganyika
