Corals and other invertebrates remove lime (calcium carbonate) from sea water. While there is an inexhaustible supply of lime in the natural ocean, the calcium concentration and carbonate hardness decrease in the seawater aquarium. To promote healthy coral growth, a balanced calcium supply is recommended.
?
Natural seawater has a calcium content of approx. 410 mg/l, a carbonate hardness of 6,5 °dH and a pH value of 8,2. The three factors work together to achieve lime saturation in the water. Tropic Marin® Bio-Calcium increases calcium and carbonate hardness and at the same time stabilizes the pH value for optimal growth of corals and calcareous red algae, thus creating the best conditions for successful reef aquarium keeping.
– Increases calcium and carbonate hardness while stabilizing pH
– No unnatural by-products – no disruption of the ionic balance
– Exact dosing without prior dissolving
– Can also be used as part of the Tropic Marin® Bio-Actif system
– Suitable for an aquarium stock with soft and hard corals
