An excessive phosphate concentration in the water often leads to reduced growth of corals and aquatic plants as well as undesirable algae growth. Therefore, the phosphate concentration in the aquarium should always be monitored and kept in an optimal range for the respective organisms. In coral reef aquariums, the optimal range of phosphate levels is between 0,03 and 0,1 mg/l. If phosphates have accumulated in the aquarium water due to food, nutrient additions or coral debris, it is sometimes necessary to quickly reduce the phosphate concentration back to the recommended range.
?
Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Rapid is a highly effective lanthanum-based solution that quickly binds phosphates and effectively removes them from the water. As a result, the phosphate concentration is reduced to a range between 0,2-0,4 mg/l within a short period of time if the values are excessive.
Suitable for freshwater and saltwater aquariums.
– Particularly rapid reduction of severely elevated phosphate levels
– highly effective lanthanum-based solution
– Reduction of the phosphate content to a range between 0,2 – 0,4 mg/l
Measure the phosphate concentration in your aquarium and calculate the necessary amount of Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Rapid. Adding 10 ml to 100 l of aquarium water reduces the phosphate concentration by up to 1 mg/l. We recommend reducing the phosphate concentration by a maximum of 0,1 mg/l per day. i.e. A maximum of 100 ml of Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Rapid should be slowly dosed per 1 l of water. Once you have reached the target range of 0,2-0,4 mg/l phosphate, you should continue with the Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Longlife adsorber granulate to further reduce and stabilize the phosphate concentration at a low level.
We recommend the following phosphate concentrations in the aquarium:
– Fresh water: < 0,3-0,5 mg/l;
– Sea water: 0,02-0,15 mg/l;
– Reef aquariums: 0,03-0,1 mg/l.
If possible, the phosphate reduction should be carried out in a filter basin with a mechanical filter in front of a skimmer, whereby the flocculated phosphates are completely removed from the system. Adding dropwise using a dosing pump is ideal.
The following aspects should be taken into account:
– If necessary, individual organisms, especially corals that are adapted to increased phosphate concentrations, may react to a too rapid reduction with stress. If such symptoms are observed in individual animals, use should be discontinued for 1-2 days and then continued at half the dosage.
– Monitor the carbonate hardness – occasionally there may be a slight decrease in the carbonate hardness. In this case, the carbonate hardness can be reduced with Tropic Marin® Triple Buffer
or Liquid Buffer can be raised back to the original value.
– All organisms need a very small amount of phosphate; 0,00 mg/l in the aquarium is not useful. Therefore, Tropic Marin® Elimi-Phos Rapid should not be used in excess.
Do not leave it in the reach of the children!

WARNING: Use of Elimi-Phos Rapid may kill existing flatworms of the genera Waminoa, Concolutriloba and possibly Acropora flatworms. Before using Elimi-Phos Rapid, as many of the flatworms as possible should be sucked out in order to keep the release of toxins from the flatworms to a minimum.
