Easy-to-use, organic filter medium for fluidized bed reactors for effective biological nitrate and phosphate degradation with a rapid, continuous effect. Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto pellets consist of a mixture of natural biopolymers that promote the settlement and growth of nitrate and phosphate-degrading bacteria and other microorganisms. These are available as valuable biomass and food source for filter feeders.

?Low nitrate and phosphate concentrations like in nature enable bright and vibrant colors with very good growth and excellent vitality of the corals. In order to create these natural conditions in the aquarium, the nutrient concentrations must be controlled.
– Easy to use filter medium for effective nitrate and phosphate removal
– Suitable for fluidized bed filters or pellet reactors due to its compact size
– Natural biopolymers promote the settlement and growth of nitrate and phosphate-degrading bacteria and other microorganisms
– For bright and vibrant coloring as well as growth and vitality of the corals
– Rapid onset and long-lasting effect
– Suitable for an aquarium stock with fish, soft and leather corals, hard corals and other filter fish and/or crustaceans
The Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto pellets must be used in a suitable fluidized bed filter or pellet reactor. To remove nutrients and exchange gases, it makes sense to skim the aquarium water vigorously.
Before use, scald the Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto pellets with boiling hot water to expel air. Start with 50 ml Tropic Marin® NP-Bacto pellets per 100 liters of aquarium content. If necessary, double the amount after 4 weeks.
A maximum amount of 200 ml per 100 liters of aquarium content should not be exceeded. We recommend replenishing used material monthly.
For particularly rapid and effective nutrient degradation, the pellet reactor outlet can be directed close to the skimmer inlet.
After two to four weeks, you will be able to notice and measure the reduced nutrient levels in the aquarium.
