At CommunityCorals, the minimum requirement for an aquarium-grown captive coral is that the mass of the mother coral after fragmentation must not be smaller than when it was received. According to our definition, the mass that has grown in the aquarium is considered a captive bred coral.
Cultivated corals offer you as an aquarist a whole range of advantages. It is still underestimated that the mortality rate of corals that have grown in the aquarium is significantly lower. The corals are already adapted to the significantly changed conditions in an aquarium and are therefore forgiving of one or the other technical error. This ensures that the corals are as colour-stable and healthy as possible, so that you can enjoy them for a long time.
