Capnella belongs to the soft corals and is colloquially referred to as a Kenya tree. The kenya tree is characterized by a trunk and a branched structure of small polyps at the top of the coral. This makes the Capnella, as the name suggests, like a small "underwater tree". The Capnella comes in different subspecies and even colors. A grayish white is common, but there are also species that shimmer green and even the rare bright yellow species.
Kenya trees are beginner corals, but are always an eye-catcher due to their striking growth habit and rapid growth, even in established tanks.
