Customer FAQ

Shipping

CommunityCorals supports the seller with shipping and thus ensures that only certified animal shipping is offered at the best conditions.

The usual shipping price is €23,90. Here we use the overnight courier service from Jungle-Express.de

However, many farmers also have their own contract with the company General Overnight, or GO! for short. The shipping costs differ here and can be seen in the shopping cart or at the checkout.

The articles show which shipping service the farmers use.

The shipping costs are always incurred per seller order, since each farmer has to ship his animals separately.

Each seller sells from their own location. Unfortunately, this results in separate shipping costs for each seller. Our system calculates the shipping costs automatically and you can see what the shipping costs are at checkout before you place the order.

Feel free to contact the seller via the support function in your user account. The seller can change the shipping address in the order.

When ordering, enter the desired delivery date at checkout. This is the date by which you would like to receive your delivery.

The seller ships the order accordingly the day before and you will receive a shipping confirmation as soon as the seller has marked the order as "Delivered".

Yes, all corals are also available for pickup. Simply specify “collection” as the shipping method at checkout.

The seller will contact you after the order has been received to coordinate a pick-up and to provide the exact pick-up address.

Order

To avoid the shipping costs of another order, you can simply place another order and choose the shipping method “local pickup”. In the order note, you then add the note “Please add to existing order” or something similar. The seller will then be happy to ship both orders together.

It is important to note that the shipping method "Pickup on site" is already on the Cart page is selected. If you try to go directly to the checkout and have not reached the minimum order value, the system will not let you go to the checkout.

When ordering, enter the desired delivery date at checkout. This is the date by which you would like to receive your delivery.

The seller ships the order accordingly the day before and you will receive a shipping confirmation as soon as the seller has marked the order as "Delivered".

The seller has handed over the order to the shipping service provider and shipped the order. In this case, the order is considered “Delivered”. You will receive the delivery the next day between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

To do this, go to the seller's FarmerShop and go to the "Reviews" tab. If you have ordered something from this seller, a mask for submitting a rating will appear.

To pay for your order, go to the checkout and select the desired payment method. Payment options are Paypal, credit card, SOFORT transfer and a bank transfer. In the case of a bank transfer, it is important to ensure that a sufficient buffer is planned when choosing the delivery date. The money should be received the day before the shipping day.

All orders must be paid in advance. Collections must also always be paid to CommunityCorals in advance of collection. Unfortunately, payment on site is currently not possible.

In the case of complaints related to the damage in the animal shipment, please note that clear specifications are made here in the General Terms and Conditions. Usually damage has to be documented upon arrival and pictures of the animals in the cup have to be provided within 4 hours after arrival. Our salespeople are usually very accommodating, but damage that occurs late in the pool cannot usually be covered by the seller.

General Questions

Community Corals is an online marketplace for captive corals, where private and commercial coral breeders and nature-conscious coral lovers come together to contribute to the protection of natural reefs and enjoy the common hobby.

Buyers will find a wide selection of sustainably farmed corals at a fair price.

Community Corals offers coral breeders (and those who want to become one) a platform on which they can reach a wide range of buyers and offer their frag quickly and easily.

Buyers and sellers benefit from special express shipping conditions, which allow live animals to be shipped including all necessary shipping materials at a price starting at €18,90.

Various coral breeders and traders offer their coral offshoots on CommunityCorals. In order to keep shipping costs as low as possible, you should choose 1-2 coral farmers who have the most interesting offer for you. You can then add the frag to the shopping cart and place an order. The number of sellers also determines the amount of shipping costs, as these are incurred per seller/shipper.

When ordering, you specify your desired delivery date and can pay directly using all common payment methods including buyer protection.

The farmer receives information about the order and we have the corals picked up according to his specifications and delivered to you before 12:00 p.m. on the date of your choice.

If questions and requests arise during the course of the order processing, the farmers can be contacted via the “enquiry” or “support function”.

By a captive coral we understand as a minimum requirement that the mass of the mother coral after fragmentation must not be smaller than it was when received. According to our definition, the mass that has grown in the aquarium is considered a captive bred coral.

These are the minimum requirements that we set for an offspring, but we believe that by selling such a frag, a contribution has been made to protecting the reefs and the animal is used to the environment of the aquarium.

In addition to the usual aquarium grown captive corals offered on CommunityCorals, sellers also have the opportunity to offer captive corals from farms abroad. These are clearly marked with the keyword "Farm offspring" in order to have a distinction for the customer.

Our vision is to trade corals between CommunityCorals members over many generations, thereby contributing to reef protection and species conservation.

At the beginning of CommunityCorals we dedicated ourselves fully to the topic of purely offering aquarium-grown offspring corals. Over time, however, we have had to admit that it is simply not possible to check whether a coral has actually grown in the aquarium, which has led to many conflicts with sellers and customers.

For this reason, we are now giving sellers and customers the opportunity to offer or buy corals from farm breeding, tank liquidations and wild catches. Since we don't want to promote wild caughts, they are hidden on the main shop page and in the categories. Wild catches can therefore only be found directly in the farmer shop of the respective seller.

The origin of each coral is shown in the article, which we hope to ensure transparency about the origin here.
